The Galaxy of Resources Information Fair came about in order to assist people in finding those services.We need your help. An Information Fair For Individuals with Disabilities and Their Families

This one day conference is a spotlight on Brevard resources for individuals with a disability and their family. Service providers from the entire spectrum of needs, birth to adult, will be available with information for families in one location. In addition to a keynote speaker, workshops will be held on a range of topics relevant to addressing lifetime disability issues.

The Galaxy is sponsored by District 7 Family Care Council (FCC) which is a gubernatorial appointed council of individuals with developmental disabilities and family members living in Central Florida. One of the goals of District 7 FCC is to educate the community regarding issues and needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. The Galaxy of Resources was specifically designed to complement this goal.

The first conference was held in February 2004 and featured 60 venders, 15 breakout workshops, an inspiring speaker and a question and answer panel. Attendance numbered close to 300 not including children in child care and a sibling workshop.

Sponsorship of the Galaxy of Resources recognizes the challenges of living with a disability for both the individual and his/her family. Community support of these efforts with financial and in-kind donations is not forgotten. All sponsors are acknowledged in the Galaxy of Resource Manual. This local resources manual is traditionally given to all conference participants and is made available for distribution throughout the county.
